Common Questions About Therapy
Is Therapy right for me?
Therapy is a place to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors without shame or judgement. The decision to seek out therapy is a personal choice and influenced by individual circumstances. Sometimes clients choose to work on long term standing mental health issues including, anxiety, depression, panic disorders, or grief and loss issues. Other times, individuals seek therapy to develop strategies and establish coping techniques for personal growth. Therapy can also be beneficial during times of significant stress including divorce in the family, loss of a loved one, navigating adolescence, launching into adulthood, and life transitions. Therapy is beneficial to anyone who would like to learn more about themselves, their behavioral and thought patterns, and would like to implement a healthier change in their daily life and relationships.
When is therapy over?
I believe in empowering my clients and equipping them with the skills and tools to overcome life’s challenges. Therapy is not over when each aspect of a client’s life is perfect. Rather, therapy is complete when clients feel empowered and confident to face future challenges with the skills and tools they have acquired.
What do you specialize in?
I specialize in working with teens, young adults, and families. I have a passion working with teens and young adults with a variety of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, panic disorders, as well as interpersonal relationships, family conflict, self-esteem, and life transitions.
How much does therapy cost?
My current out of pocket rate is $200 for an initial 60 minute assessment session, and then moving forward, $150 for a 45 minute session for individuals, and $175 for a 45 minute session for families and couples.
Do you accept insurance?
I am currently in network with Aetna, Cigna, Oscar, Oxford, United Health Care, Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield of New York, and Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. Before we begin, I will verify if your insurance is active and eligible via the Alma platform who help me run my private practice. I will also provide you with your co-pay rate once an eligibility check for your insurance is completed. You can visit my Alma profile here.
*Please note, if you do note have the above insurance, you still have the opportunity to see me out of network. If your plan covers out of network mental health services, I can provide you with a superbill, which is a monthly billing statement, to submit for reimbursement to your insurance company. Payment must be provided to me directly at the time of service. However, I highly recommend you reach out to your insurance provider and inquire what mental health services your insurance plan covers out of network.*
